Rana sighed softly as she stood up in her cell. Walking around, she went over to the door and felt the steel under her hands. How long had she been locked in here? Shaking off the thought, she sat back down on her cot before she blinked seeing Paya come in through a small hole with a small bag in her paws. She smiled and picked the hamster up before she took the bag and opened it, taking out a few baby carrots and giving one to Paya before she started to eat some. Tensing up as she heard people outside, she kept her back to the door as she hung her head and waited for them to pass. Outside the cell was a sign that said 'Not for Sale, Display only!"

Matthais, the Blackhearted, pushed a strand of hair out of his face as he silently moved through the hallways, of what had to be the most depressing place he'd ever been in.  It was dark, gloomy, the hopelessness of this hell hole could physically be felt.  It threatened to crush the life out of him.  He just wanted to finish his business here, get out as fast as possible, and go run around in the sunlight til he forgot about it.  Then, he saw something in one cell...an extremely beautiful young girl.  He paused, looking in.

When Rana was finished with her carrots, she smiled and held Paya in her hands as the small creature curled up and fell asleep. Looking over to the door of the cell, she blinked and shivered seeing the man outside looking in at her. She quickly looked down and hung her head as she shut her eyes, knowing that he wouldn't be able to get her out of here.

He'd been spotted, and now felt quite embarrassed.  Turning a little red, he quickly strode off, outside the slave market and into the sunlight.  He put as much distance between himself and that rotten place as possible, but by nightfall, in his cheap bed in a cheap inn, he found he couldn't sleep, and it wasn't his dinner.  His thoughts kept drifting back to her, that girl he'd seen.  He always hated seeing living beings held against their will.

Rana groaned as she was pulled from her cell. Sighing softly as the guard brought her to the back. She stripped off her clothes and got in a tub of water before she washed herself off in the cold water. After five minutes, she got out and dried off. Getting her clothes back on, she was brought back to her cell and given a bowl of rice before she sat on her cot and just looked at the food.

Slowly, became angrier and angrier.  What tortures must they be putting her through? He thought.  Tomorrow, as much as he hated it, he had to go back.  He had to find out who she was.

Rana sighed as she laid on her cot, thinking about the man she had seen today. Smiling a bit, she laughed softly remembering his blush. Looking up at Paya as she laid on the pillow before she shut her eyes and fell asleep.

The next morning, he rode back the way he came the day before.  Finally, he reached the slave market and talked his way back inside.  It was only then he realized he couldn't remember were she was, so he randomly went up and down the halls, looking for that cell...

Rana sighed as she sat in her cell again. She looked up and spoke with one of the guards that stood near her cell. She laughed softly now and then as he cracked a few jokes before she went over and leaned against the wall of the cell and spoke with the man. When the guard was called off, she sighed and went and sat back down and hugged her knees as she sat on her cot, humming to herself.

Matthais heard the conversation, and decided to follow the voices.  He finally found her, but realized he had no idea what to say. "Hello..." He finally managed to get out.

Rana blinked. She tensed up seeing the man from before she smiled softly. "Hello to you as well..." She said softly.

"So what's your name?" He asks, looking down slightly.

"I'm Rana." She said softly. "What's your name?" She asked, rocking on her heels as she watched him. Tilting her head a bit seeing him looking down. "Are you okay? Why are you looking down?"

"Matthais." He answered, then quickly looked up at the next question. "Oh...thought I saw a coin on the floor..." He trailed off.  "So...how long have you been here?"

"Matthais.... thats a nice name." She said, giggling softly before she blinked hearing him. She looked on the floor and tilted her head. There was no coin. Looking back up at him, she though. "Um.... probably a year? I don't really know..."

Oh great, he thought to himself.  Now that I finally find her I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY! Mentally he was kicking himself. However, he tried still to play it cool.  "Your name sounds like you come from [whatever country she's from]." He said, desparately trying to continue a conversation.

Rana nodded a bit and smiled. "Yeah, I come from there." She said softly, rubbing her arm nervously before she glanced down. "So, what are you doing here?" She asked.

As a knight, he couldn't tell a lie.  "I uhhhh....came to see you." He answered truthfully.  "I don't know why."

"To see.... me?" Rana blinked before she blushed softly and looked up at him. She smiled a bit before she looked down again as her blush deepened. "Thanks... It means a lot that someone would come here of all places to see me.."

"Well, you're very pretty." He continued.  This probably would creep her out.
