Bates sat, watching the young woman Nedia as she ate. He was glad to see she had an appetite at least.

"So do tell me about yourself," he said, his low voice sensual and casual. His wide smile and shaggy collar length black hair made him seem menacing, but he was really a pushover. Bates sat back as he waited to hear the girl answer.

Nedia ate quietly, never looking up from her plate. It had been a while sense she had last eaten. She new the man named Bates was watching her. She glanced up when he asked her a question then quickly looked back down.

"Well" She began in a quiet voice, "I would'nt know what to tell you. Is there anything specific you would like to know?" Looking up Nedia studied him. He had a menacing look about him. She knew never to judge a book by its cover, so she wasent sure what to make of him. Shifting in her chair, she continued eating quietly feeling uncomfortable with being watched.

Bates looked up at the ceiling. "Well I want to know what you like so I can help you feel comfortable here," he said softly. "Food, drinks, type of clothing, though please be decent about it, hobbies, I just want to know about you, not the bullshit the slavers planted or tried to plant in your mind." he stared at the ceiling.

Nedia thought as she ate. She wasn't a picky person, and could basically deal with anything. "I like most foods, so there's not really anything I can think of that I don't particularly care for. I'll wear anything as long as it's not tight, too reavealing, or pink. Hobbies, well, I do enjoy reading and taking walks. Though, I havn't been able to do either recently."

She grew quiet as she went on. It felt strange telling what she likes and does not like. She never got to think for herself and wasn't used to it. She finished eating and sat still in her chair, running her fingers over the marks on her wrist that the shackles had left on her tender skin and stared down at the table. She felt a little more comfortable when she noticed he wasn't staring at her.  

Bates tossed over a couple of linen bandages for her wrists. "Get used to having fun, you can read and walk all you want here."

Nedia took the bandages and carefully wrapped them around her wrists and tied them. She glanced up at him with a blank look on her face. Was he serious? She felt she could believe him, but her causious nature kept her from feeling any joy at his statement. Looking around the room, she ran her fingers through her hair and grimaced. "Could I perhaps take a bath?"

"Of course, dear," Bates said, dropping his head and smiling at her. "Towels are in the bathroom, I will stay here, bathroom is at the top of the stairs."

She nodded then stood and walked to the stairs. Easily finding the bathroom, she went inside and undressed. Nedia adjusted the water until it was to her likeing and started to take a slow shower. She scrubbed her body until her pale skin was pink, then took her time on her dirty hair. She couldn't remember the last time she had taken a shower. She stood with her head turned up so the water was spraying on her face and sighed. She hoped she liked it here, she had a feeling she would but wasn't sure. She could never be truely sure of anything when it came to her life.

Bates stay where he was, not the type to hurt anyone. He heard the shower and sat where he was, sewing something.

Finishing up, Nedia turned the water off and got out. Using a towel she dried her hair first, then the rest of her body. Wraping the towel around her she looked at her old clothes with dread. The thought of wearing the dirty rags after such a nice shower didn't appeal to her, but she'd do what she had to. Sticking her head out the door she called, "Do I wear my old cloths? I don't believe I have any others."

"No you don't, I bought you a dress that should fit," Bates called. It was knee length, cut only to the collarbone, with short sleeves. She should like it, Bates thought as he sat, thinking.

Nedia sighed with relief before calling out again. "Where might it be?" She cautiously stepped out of the bathroom and stood at the top of the stairs, looking around. The place was quite large, to her standards at least. She knew not what the normal home size was susposed to be, growing up in a small shack herself. Seeing as he was a master, he had to be rich.

"On your bed," he called.

Nedia was about to call back her thanks when she realized she hadn't a clue as to where her room was. "Forgive my inquiries, but I don't seem to know where my room is, let alone my bed." She asked with an amused tone.

"Do you want me to come up and show you? You can wear my shirt until then, there is one on the dresser in there, black."

"Yes, that would be very kind." Nedia called before she found the shirt he mentioned, put it on, then patiently waited for him.  

Bates waited a second to make sure she had found it and gotten dressed, and walked up. He knocked on the door and waited for her to come out, leaning against the far wall.

Nedia causiously walked out of the room, her gaze going everywhere but to him. "I hope it's not to complicated here." She stated, waiting for him to start.

Bates smiled and led her down a hall, to a white door. "In there. You go ahead, i will go downstairs."

Nedia noded then opened the door, walking inside. It was a simple room, not to fancy but not to under furnished. Going to the closet, she looked inside and took out a blue dress that fell to the top of her ankles with long sleeves. It was a comfortable dress that fit her form but wasn't too tight. Walking out of the room, she went downstairs to where Bates was standing and asked "So why did you buy me?" then waited patiently for a reply.
